Weigh My Ride offers a “drive on, drive off” mobile vehicle weigh service for cars, caravans, campers, horse floats, trailers and boat trailers. This service is available for vehicle only weighs and/or vehicle and trailer weighs.
Vehicle only weighs include:
- pre-tow vehicle check: to ensure you have enough remaining payload for your vehicle to safely tow a caravan/horse float;
- accessorised 4WD check: to ensure you have remaining payload for your passengers and cargo after installing bull bars, drawer systems etc.
Vehicle and trailer weighs (i.e. car and caravan/horse float/boat trailer) review the combined set up to ensure there is no unnecessary axle pressure, unbalanced load, suspension sag or weights that exceed the vehicle’s specified limits. This can apply stress to rear suspension and braking performance, and increase the risk of vehicle sway.
As part of your appointment, a qualified automotive technician and licensed vehicle tester with over 25 years’ experience will assess:
- individual wheel weights to ensure your vehicles are within the legal limits as specified by the manufacturer;
- ride height of the vehicles to determine whether additional suspension upgrades are required;
- payload distribution to ensure the vehicles are appropriately balanced;
- appropriateness of the tow hitch setup (for vehicle-trailer combinations).

We can weigh your individual wheel, axle and tow ball weights to help you understand the limits of your setup and safest way to load.
Pre-caravan purchase
Just because your car/4WD has a 3T towing capacity does not necessarily mean you can safely tow 3T.
We can determine your on board vehicle weight at the time of travel (considering your vehicle’s accessories, passengers and cargo) to understand your available towing capacity.
Accessorised 4WD
Have you fitted accessories to your 4WD such as bull bar, roof rack, awning, drawers, fridge, bigger wheels etc that will impact the vehicle’s load carrying and towing capacity?
Or have you modified your vehicle and require a weight check for VASS compliance?
We can check your individual wheel weights to ensure you have an even and balanced load within the limits of your vehicle’s GVM.
Trailer/Horse Float
Do you understand the safe allowable weight limits of your trailer or horse float, including the weight or your boat or equine friends? The combined weight of your boat and gear, or your horses, tack, feed, water, fencing and camping gear must be considered when loading.
We can weigh the individual wheel, axle and tow ball weights of your setup to ensure you are balanced, safe and legal.
